Nine Months

I have done a horrible job of tracking Landon's monthly updates here. My only saving grace is that I have actually kept up with his baby book (a true miracle)! We took these nine month pictures a little late. Okay, two weeks late. So they're more like 9.5 month pictures but we will just roll with it! :) I am so glad our friend Katie is doing professional family pictures next week because I am awful about taking pictures with my SLR. I hate to admit it, but I imagine his poor baby scrapbook would be filled with iPhone pics if it weren't for her.

Landon is such a total joy! I love this age! I might say that every month but this truly IS my favorite age so far!

Landon is a total lover baby. He would love it if we just sat in the rocking chair all day long and cuddled. He gives kisses and leans in and just gives lots of sweet love. It's so cute now but I worry about him being so affectionate in sixteen years! Hah!

He has four teeth - two on top and two on bottom. He is constantly teething but prefers his own hands over any teething toy. He loves to bite food and chew and eat. Oh, he loves food. I think he would marry yogurt if he could.

He is crawling and pulling up on everything. He loves to crawl after Boomer, Boomer's bone (see a theme here? Oy.) and electrical cords. He keeps me on my toes for sure!

We still do a music class every Wednesday morning and I have enrolled him in Mom-Tot swim lessons this summer. I am so excited. I already picked out the cutest little swim trunks for him.

Best of all, he is such a great little sidekick in my life. We go and do everything together. I hate driving without him in the car because it's so lonely. I admit I still play our baby music CD even then because it's soothing to have it playing since it's all I've listened to in months. :)

What an incredible nine months!!!

6 Months

Whew! After a two week break from blogging I'm glad to be back!

In the meantime my little dude turned six months old. I cannot believe it! Someone told me during those rough first weeks of taking care of a newborn that the first six weeks of parenthood feels like it goes by in a year; but the rest of the year feels like it goes by in six weeks. They were right!!

Here's what we're up to at SIX months:
- Landon is sleeping in his crib at night and I'm still holding him for most of his naps during the day (I'm still trying to soak up every bit of baby-hood! :). We start his bedtime routine with a bath around 7:30pm and he wakes up between 6-7am with 1-3 wakings to eat at night.
- He is still being breastfed but we've added some solids to our "dinner". So far he has had banana which he hated, and pears, sweet potato, butternut squash, apple and avocado which he loved!
- He wears 6 month sized clothes, with some 9 month sleepers.
- We are still putting him in his infant car seat but he is getting so heavy we are going to switch to a convertible soon.
- He still sucks his thumb :)
- He loves to stand up along our ottoman and pull things off! Hah!
- He can sit up without help for several minutes at a time.
- He *finally* rolled over at 5.5 months. Now he rolls across the room in under a minute!
- He is getting more interested in Boomer and I think he's learning his name.
- He still has a very prominent dimple in his right cheek :))
- He definitely prefers Mama rock him to sleep over anyone else. But he laughs more for Daddy.
- Random ladies at the grocery store can look at him wrong and make him cry. It's kind of funny! :)
- His hair is so long it gets in his eyes. I know we need to give him a haircut soon but I'm so sad to admit it...
- He is wearing size 2 shoes.
- He has two bottom TEETH! They sprouted the day after New Years. I love the little flash of teeth when he laughs :)
- His favorite toy is a random Sassy brand fish and his Sophie the Giraffe.
- His eyes are very bright blue!
- He wears size 3 diapers, we still prefer Pampers.
- We are starting our first mommy and me class this week called Music Together!
- Instead of screaming in the carseat, he usually falls asleep now. This is such a relief.
- He doesn't like being in the stroller because he can't look around.
- He babbles and blows bubbles a lot!

We love our little man!

2 Months

Landon turned 2 months old on August 30!

Here's a rundown of our stats:

- You are wearing size 1 diapers and size Newborn and 0-3 Month clothes.

- You are breastfeeding exclusively about every 3 hours.

- You are sleeping in your swing in our room. 

- You officially have reflux and are on Zantac two times a day

- You still like riding in your car seat. 

- You like being sung to - our favorites are: "You Are My Sunshine", "Jesus Loves Me", "Amazing Grace" and "L.O.V.E."

- You got your immunizations at your 2-month pediatric appointment. You cried a little. I cried a lot.

- You go to bed around 9pm each night and on good nights you give us at least a 4-6 hour stretch without waking up.

- You still love your pacifier.

- You are becoming quite attached to your blue blanket. 

- You hiccup a lot!

- You are starting to smile at us and it is THE BEST. We will spend hours trying to get you to do it again after you do it once.

It's always interesting trying to get a picture of you.

Oh, hello, Boomer.

One Month

In two days our little boy will be one month old. I can't decide if time is flying by or dragging (mostly during late night feedings - hah!). We are so proud to have you as our little man. You look so much like your daddy that I like to think of you as my little sidekick during the days when he's at work.

-You are wearing newborn size clothes, and some 0-3 month ones and newborn diapers. You're about to outgrow all newborn stuff though!
-You are eating every 2-4 hours, mostly breast milk with a little formula to supplement.
- You hate being burped but you don't necessarily mind getting your diaper changed (after we got a wipe warmer - thank the heavens for that!).
- Our current bedtime routine is to wind down between 8 and 9pm. We lower the lights and our voices so you know it's night time. We put your pjs on and swaddle you and give you one last feeding and then we rock you to sleep. You are still sleeping in our room in the Fisher Price Rock 'n Play Sleeper.
- You hold your hands up under your chin when you're eating - it's hilarious and adorable!
- You will take any bottle, or pacifier we offer you - you aren't picky!
- You still have your stork kiss on your forehead.
- You lost your cord stump on day 13 and you were circumcised at your two week doctor appointment.
- When you are hungry your cry sounds like "geee" and we like to pretend you're saying you're hun"gee".
- You have already spent a lot of time with your grandparents - they love to kiss you and hold you!
- Your finger nails grow faster than anything I've ever seen.
- We know you weigh at least 9 lbs! Probably more!
- You love sleeping on someone's chest.
- We still can't believe how much hair you have - it goes way past your ears! We wonder if it will fall out..?
- Everyone thinks you look like your daddy. You have my hands, but that's about it :)
- We call you "Lan the Man" and "Buddy"
- You are the most precious thing that's ever happened to us. We sure are tired but we love being your parents!!
