Hitting the gym

Is anyone else feeling the slump? Hard to get motivated to hit the gym? Joe and I ate loads of crap last week (hello ice cream!) during our crisis so I'm really trying to get my butt to the gym every day this week.

Yet. Another. House

This weekend we hightailed it to Wichita to check out some (ahem.. 13!) houses. We did it in a day and boy was it exhausting! Especially after the harrowing week we had. We liked what we saw, although housing isn't as cheap there as it is here in Oklahoma. Here's one of our top contenders right now...

Contract Signed!

Change of Plans

Joe got a call today and was offered an anesthesiology position at KU Wichita! Dude, these things just don't happen. Scramble was over. Match was over. Somehow they still had a spot. They called and interviewed him over the phone and it's a done deal! We're moving to Kansas, baby!

No Match

There's no easy way to say this. We didn't match into any of our anesthesiology programs. We got the email on Monday and since then our entire life has been in upheaval. Joe's dream's are entirely shattered. Yesterday we secured a Family Medicine residency here at Oklahoma. It'll work for now. We've very low. Trying to focus on the positives. Wishing this was all a dream and we will wake up and everything will be set right. So much hard work to just be able to give up your dream. I know this is going to be a good learning opportunity, but right now, it's hard to see to the other end of the tunnel.

New Threads for Graduation

I know Hubster's graduation is still a couple months away but I can't help oogling these pretty new J. Crew dresses for the event. Which color would give me the "I'm proud of you babe" look I'm going for?


*UPDATE* I also forgot to tell you I found another house I love. And we are officially pre-approved for a mortgage.

Home Shopping

One week from today we get the "Yes/No" as to whether Joe has matched for residency. Being productive and ahead-of-the-game, we decided to spend the weekend in KC to look at some homes we might be interested in buying IF we are matched there. We spent ALLLLL day Saturday with the Realtor and really only found one home that we *love*. We're (obviously) not ready to make an offer just yet, but it does have a lot of the qualities on our Must Have list.



We're planning to shop around Oklahoma this week and then be back to KC this weekend.

Weekend Amusement

Here's what I did this weekend:

(1) Joe and I watched The Birds. Who could forget Alfred Hitchcock? It's been years since I've seen this oldie-but-goodie. And it's still freaky. And, I swear, walking in to work this morning there were crows circling my head... *cue predator music*

(and I'm sorry, but the heroine reminds me of Paris Hilton somehow (?))

(2). I did, like, 26.4 million loads of laundry. Since I've been traveling for a month solid (and not even unpacking my suitcases in between trips) I had a MOUND of stuff to clean. I even forgot how to use my dryer. Oops.

(3) I cooked. Nice, right?

(4) I caught up on some of the crap reality tv shows I TiVo'd over the last month.

(5) And the funnest one of all (I know funnest isn't a word). I've been drooling over home decorating inspiration pictures. I can't wait to be *hopefully* buying a house soon... Lookie at some of my fav's
