Nine Months

I have done a horrible job of tracking Landon's monthly updates here. My only saving grace is that I have actually kept up with his baby book (a true miracle)! We took these nine month pictures a little late. Okay, two weeks late. So they're more like 9.5 month pictures but we will just roll with it! :) I am so glad our friend Katie is doing professional family pictures next week because I am awful about taking pictures with my SLR. I hate to admit it, but I imagine his poor baby scrapbook would be filled with iPhone pics if it weren't for her.

Landon is such a total joy! I love this age! I might say that every month but this truly IS my favorite age so far!
Landon is a total lover baby. He would love it if we just sat in the rocking chair all day long and cuddled. He gives kisses and leans in and just gives lots of sweet love. It's so cute now but I worry about him being so affectionate in sixteen years! Hah!
He has four teeth - two on top and two on bottom. He is constantly teething but prefers his own hands over any teething toy. He loves to bite food and chew and eat. Oh, he loves food. I think he would marry yogurt if he could.
He is crawling and pulling up on everything. He loves to crawl after Boomer, Boomer's bone (see a theme here? Oy.) and electrical cords. He keeps me on my toes for sure!
We still do a music class every Wednesday morning and I have enrolled him in Mom-Tot swim lessons this summer. I am so excited. I already picked out the cutest little swim trunks for him.
Best of all, he is such a great little sidekick in my life. We go and do everything together. I hate driving without him in the car because it's so lonely. I admit I still play our baby music CD even then because it's soothing to have it playing since it's all I've listened to in months. :)

What an incredible nine months!!!

Tidbits

1. I don't know if you heard, but we had some major tornado-producing storms here last weekend. My best friend from college is a meteorologist (ain't it nice to know people?) and she warned me it was going to be "devastating". So I did what any sane, rational and calm person would do. I ran away to my mom's house in Missouri. Ha! Joe stayed behind because he had to work but he texted me this picture of his "storm bunker" downstairs. Note the abundance of snacks.

2. Here is our most recent Craft Club project! A wreath made from cupcake liners! I put mine on my mantle with my $4 antique mall bunny. Bunnies are acceptable all through spring, right? It didn't feel right to put him away after Easter. He needs a ribbon around his neck, though.
3. I scored this shirt for Landon on sale for our family pictures. I think it will work nicely with my "kmart dress".
4. I'm hosting the first book club get together for a resident spouses club here in town. We are going to read Divergent. Have you read it?

Happy Tuesday!

Dental Assistant

Today was a big day of doctor appointments for us. We had Landon's nine month well-baby appointment at the pediatrician and then I had a dentist appointment. Of course, I forgot to take any pictures at the doctor. The good news is there were no shots this time! Someone forgot to tell Landon because he was a grump the entire time. I think he was waiting for the nurse to come in with her tray of needles! Ha!!

We waited so long to see the dentist that Joe had to go back to work instead of watch Landon in the waiting room like we planned. Luckily a nurse held Landon for part of the time I was having my teeth cleaned but eventually she had a patient come so I ended up holding Landon on my lap while my hygienist finished. Landon must have thought she was doing it wrong though because he kept reaching in my mouth and grabbing the instruments to help or trying to scrape the polish off my teeth. Hah! I took this picture when the nurse ran out to get our new toothbrush. I still have the paper drape over me. I felt like supermom because I managed to keep him in my lap and happy while simultaneously getting a dental exam!
They gave us a new toothbrush for Landon and you can see he loves it! I think he might be a dentist when he grows up??
Happy (Clean Teeth) Thursday!

Easter 2012

We had such a fun Easter weekend! Joe worked all day Friday so we went straight up to Kansas City that night.

We went to church Saturday night with Joe's family and Sunday morning with my side. My mom and I decided a few weeks ago to try to all coordinate by wearing gray. I got Landon this cute little neck tie. It just kills me! :)

I didn't think Landon would be able to do much egg hunting but he managed to put just about every single egg in his mouth. And a funny story... we were sitting in church and to keep him quiet/entertained I let him hold a little Reeces egg. He held it for a good ten minutes just turning it over in his hands, dropping it and watching me pick it up, etc. I looked up at the preacher for one second and I heard my grandma say "oh no!!!" and I looked back down and he had chocolate and peanut butter all over himself. I guess the heat of his little hand made it mushy and he just squeezed the good stuff right out. Luckily he didn't get any in his mouth but I leaned over to Joe and made a comment about him going into some kind of peanut allergy episode right here in the middle of church. Oh my word. I was never so glad to have a package of wet wipes in my diaper bag! Ha!

Hope you had a great Easter!

Clothes Deals

I have been on the hunt for a cute maxi dress for our family pictures in a couple of weeks. I saw this dress on (pregnant!) Kristen Cavallari and loved it. As it turns out this dress is from K-Mart! I am not even kidding! My store had a bunch of them and it fit great and the colors are so vibrant in person! Only $20!!!

I also found this cute blue shirt there and have gotten several compliments on it. It's fun to watch people's faces when I tell them where it's from. Hah!
I wanted to get Joe some new shorts for this summer. He usually gets Old Navy shorts because they're cheap and by the end of the summer they have grass stains/grease/etc on them :). I found some Paper Denim & Cloth cargo shorts at Burlington Coat Factory of all places. They still had the $58 tag on them, but they were only asking $15. They fit great on him!
This is my new favorite t-shirt for Landon. Of course it's British - hah! It was only $9 shipped from here. I love love love it! :)

Have you found any good deals on clothes lately??
